Eucharistic Adoration

St Madeleine Catholic Church | Monstrance

St. Madeleine's Parish has a thriving Eucharistic adoration apostolate every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of each week. Adoration begins immediately after the 8:30 a.m. mass and ends with benediction at 9:00 p.m. On First Fridays, we have 24 hour adoration starting at 9:00 a.m. and ending Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m.

Eucharistic Adoration is time well spent with the Lord. While in the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus said to his apostles who has fallen asleep, "Could you not spend one hour with me?" In our fast paced consumerist society, we are constantly occupied with our families, careers and leisure plans. We can spend several hours watching television each day or working with a special hobby of ours. But, we seem to find no time for Jesus.

Jesus wants quality time with us. The only way he can truly reach our hearts is if we spend quite time with Him before the Blessed Sacrament. We may have days that re very stressful or upsetting. We may say to ourselves, "There is just too much to do. I don't know how I will get everything done." Give Jesus an hour, and Jesus will make sure you get things done with plenty of time to spare.

The principle behind this is sacrificial giving. When we give to God when it hurts to give, God always makes sure we will be given back more. God can never be outdone by our generosity. If we give an hour or more of our time each day to God, our day will run much more smoothly. The Lord will give us a calmer spirit to handle our day-to-day stresses and problems.

Give Eucharistic Adoration a try! It won't hurt. We are always looking for people to cover certain hours of the day. If you would like to commit an hour on one day, or perhaps all three days, please give our Eucharistic Adoration coordinators a call: Janet Pallone - (386) 454-7485.
